About

Generously funded by the Fulbright Program, I spent one year in South Korea for researching Korean popular music from the 1970s on. I began this blog to share my thoughts and progress during the research process, but since returning home in late 2011 have continued it to include other realms of music and my thoughts as related to that whole world in general!

Popular music has always opened a number of doorways for me, from grade school to now. In my Fulbright year, I met wonderful people, encountered a slew of interesting spaces, and got to know a country in its culture and history through its modern music, whilst living directly among it all. I’m currently taking steps toward preparing for the future, but I also have a few side projects and am working on my own music in the meantime.
